Outside of Open Enrollment, you can only make changes during the year if you have a qualifying life event change. These changes include:

  • Marriage, divorce, legal separation or annulment
  • Birth, adoption or permanent legal guardianship of a child
  • Death of a spouse or child
  • Loss of spouse’s or child’s coverage under another health plan
  • A qualified court order that makes you legally responsible for a child’s health care coverage
  • A spouse or child becoming ineligible for coverage

You have 31 days from your qualifying life event change to make changes in Workday. You will need to submit documentation to support the change via Workday.

  • Stop participating.
  • Change your contributions.
  • Start submitting your spouse’s or dependents’ eligible expenses for reimbursement.

Life, AD&D and Disability

  • Purchase Basic Life Insurance.
  • Purchase Optional Life and/or AD&D Insurance.
  • Purchase STD Buy-Up.
  • Add your spouse and children as beneficiaries.

Note: All coverage increases will require Evidence of Insurability (EOI).

  • Review your 401(k) contributions and beneficiaries.
  • Update your personal information (address, etc.) in Workday.
  • Get an updated driver’s license and Social Security card if your name and/or address are changing.
  • Change your W-4 deductions and state withholding in Workday.
